Divorces

There are 2 types of divorces: Contested and Uncontested.

What is an Uncontested Divorce?

An uncontested divorce is usually where both parties are in agreement and would like to place their agreement in writing and process their divorce. This is often a cheaper process and also faster, as there are no objections/negotiations that need to take place between lawyers from both parties.

What is a contested divorce?

A contested divorce is more common and a longer process. A divorce is contested when the parties are not able to agree on the division of their assets, and, when minor children are involved, who will be awarded primary care (custody) and what amount of maintenance, if any, will be paid to the spouse and/or the children.
